Pricing Details

Visa, MasterCard and Visa Debit are accepted for payment method.

Online: $75.00 (tax included, Visa, MasterCard and Visa Debit accepted)

Onsite: $105.00 (tax included, Visa, MasterCard and Visa Debit accepted)

Any students missing the rental deadline who still want to attend can rent a gown on the day of their ceremony for an additional charge. Please see www.bookstore.ubc.ca/customer-service/services/graduation/graduation-student-faq for full details and for answers to further questions.

Payment by Credit Card or Visa Debit: AVS (Address Verification Security) requires correct billing address


Email Order Confirmation

You will receive two emails once your online order has been completed.

The first email will be from Gaspard. This is payment receipt and contains your payment information. If you have used a credit card other than your own, it will show on this confirmation. The academic dress will be onsite in your name.

The second email will be from Build-A-Grad. This email order confirmation contains all the necessary details regarding your order.


Order Cancellations

All cancellations for refund must be received before October 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm (PST). Refund requests will not be accepted after.

Regalia Pick-Up Instructions

Students must pick up their gowns 1.5 hours prior to their ceremony start time. Pick up is located at the Brock Hall (1874 East Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1). Please ensure you have your rental confirmation order number with you when you arrive, and a piece of photo ID.


Regalia Return Instructions

Gowns must be returned to the UBC Bookstore located at 6200 University Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4 no later than 1 hour after your ceremony concludes. The Bookstore closes at 6:30pm everyday.

Important:

Gaspard has scanned your rental items to your student ID. All rental regalia must be returned after your event. Unreturned items will be reported to your University or College and you may be charged for the regalia's purchase price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Missed the gown rental deadline?

You can also rent a gown and hood on the day of your ceremony for an additional fee. We have enough regalia of all sizes and colours to allow anyone who missed the deadline to attend.

Can I cancel my graduation gown order?

All cancellations for refund for Fall 2026 ceremonies must be received before October 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (PT). Refunds will not be accepted after. Please contact Gaspard Customer Service: 1-800-683-4771 (Mon-Fri: 8:30am - 4:30pm CST) [email protected]

Can I pick up my graduation gown early?

Unfortunately, no. All gowns can only be picked up 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to the ceremony you are attending. Gowns are boxed by ceremony number and are not unpacked until right before each ceremony, so we are not able to retrieve them advance.
